The Association of Chemistry Teachers is responsible for conducting stage I selection test for the Indian National Chemistry Olympiad programme. This National level selection test is known as National Standard Examination in Chemistry (NSEC) consist of challenging multiple choice questions in different branches of chemistry and test students for conceptual understanding and application of concepts to different situations.
Generally about 30,000 to 35,000 candidates, studying at higher secondary level, across the country appear for the NSEC. The examination is conducted at about 850+ centres in different cities/towns /villages most convenient to students..
This examination is usually held on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of November every year and is administered in collaboration with Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). The past paper for year 2008 is available on following link examination.
